(4/27/24) Frosty Hollow Trashers @ Topspins Average Joes

After finishing only a few points out of a playoff position a year ago, the Trashers are looking to make a run this season. They had a busy offseason looking to add good team guys to their roster to help make this roster even tighter. This team is known as one of the top teams in the league for their team camaraderie and they believe their new additions are going to fit in great.

It was USTA Mens Opening Day for the Trashers as they took the road to Fort Washington Tennis Club to take on Topspins Average Joes in Ambler Pennsylvania.

It was a 1:00 affair with clouds on a chilly and somewhat windy afternoon.

It was a light drizzle all afternoon but did not put a stop into the action. With sirens in the background the lineups were submitted.

The Trashers Opening Day Lineup was submitted with a black sharpie.

In the Single Positions were,

Ben Pinter and Tarik Bassal.

In the Doubles Positions were,

Zach McGowan / Lance Shaffer

Pete Macios / Andy Olson

Dmitry Belov / Mark Shaffer

The Trashers took the courts in their new Black and Yellow jerseys which everyone seemed to love and were the talk in the pre game festivities. 

Tarik Bassal started off with 4 points. It was then Ben Pinter who was making his Trasher debut who scored a big 5 points and certainly took out the trash! It was then Zach McGowan and Lance Shaffer who started the party for the Doubles by scoring another 5 big points! Pete Macios (making his Trasher debut) and Andy Olson banged in another 4 points which seemed to really quiet down the home crowd. With the score now 18-0, the Trashers were one court away from a sweep. Dmitry Belov and Mark Shaffer closed things out in a pressure situation by bringing in another 3 points to secure the lead and the sweep!

21-0! Theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee TRASHERS wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin!

The Trashers are now set for a full week of practice as they prepare for next weeks game. The Trashers are the talk of the town so come out and cheer this energetic team on!
