(5/25/24) Frosty Hollow Trashers @ The Cynwyd Clubbers

The Trashers were finally closing out a long road swing and business trip on Memorial Day Weekend on a delightful and sunny day!

The Trashers took the journey to Bala Cynwyd Pennsylvania to take on The Cynwyd Clubbers @ The Cynwd Club. The home team described their club as BEAUTY, SERENITY, AND TRADITION which opened in 1913.

Situated on two and a half acres in a quiet residential neighborhood in Bala Cynwyd just outside of Philadelphia, the Club boasts Har-Tru tennis where all players must wear all white clothing to play on the match courts.

It was a hot day of tennis action as the players took to the courts. It certainly had a Wimbledon vibe to the day but with a calmness to the intensity. However, anytime you have a Trasher team out on game day you know you’re in for a fun day!

In all whites, The Trashers starters @ The All England Club were,

SINGLES 1: Aaron Gray

SINGLES 2 : Tarik Bassal

DOUBLES 1: Zach McGowan / Lance Shaffer

DOUBLES 2: Andy Olson / Dave Miller

DOUBLES 3: Andrew Humphreys / Randy Swadlow

It was Aaron Gray who first quieted the club by scoring 5 points in quick fashion. It was then Zach McGowan and Lance Shaffer who took charge on their court and scored another 5 points while emptying the premier club pool out. Broken strings with a touch and the Trashers were up 10-0! It was then the Clubbers looking for a crowd boost from the folks in white in the upper deck. They grabbed 4 points which then made the score 10-4. Andrew Humphreys and Randy Swadlow answered with 3 more big points and then Tarik Bassal scored 4.

The Trashers win 17-4.

Win, Lose, or Tie, the Trashers main goal is to stay the team with the best camaraderie.

The 2024 Trashers Home Opener is next week and they are looking for a big crowd!
