The Trashers headed back out on the road on Saturday to Upper Dublin Sports Center. It was a rainy and miserable day outside. Weather did not play a factor in todays game because this was set inside the stadium complex. The fans in the stands were set up behind plexiglass to watch the tennis action.
A long day of tennis in the dim lit stadium made for a somewhat difficult day for the away team.
The Trashers penciled in their lineup as the rain leaked through the hallway.
Starting At Singles1 was Ben Pinter
Starting At Singles2 was Tarik Bassal
Starting At Doubles1 was Zach McGowan and Lance Shaffer
Starting At Doubles2 was Bob Hawley and Mark Shaffer
Starting At Doubles3 was Dmitry Belov and Aaron Gray
The Trashers took to the Hard Indoor Courts in their black and yellow jerseys and jumped out with a lead. Tarik Bassal scored 4 points. It was then the UDSC Renaissance team that seemed to huddle up to answer the bell. They rattled off 17 straight court points to knock off the Trashers by a score of 17-4. It was a tough road game for the Trashers going into hostile territory. They’ll go back to work on the practice courts as they continue their road swing next week looking for a bounce back win. It’s certainly a revenge week coming up and it is already known that a Trasher team like this is going to come out next week with an edge to them. The players are certainly wanting to get back on the courts.
It’s officially “revenge week” now as they’ll look to take out frustration in next weeks game versus their opponents.
Keep cheering this team on. Tell your family and friends! They are looking to have some big crowds as the weather gets nicer!
Go Trashers Go!
